DESIGNER BIO

Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, acclaimed fine artist Baglione is highly respected and recognized within the industry as well as throughout South America and Europe. He is known for his strong minimalist and simplistic approach to painting. According to Baglione, the basis of his work is addressing the coldness and competiveness present in people. He likes to be ironic about things such as individuality and death, and the paths chosen to either achieve these experiences or distance oneself from it. One of his main inspirations for his artwork is Brazilian street culture. He analyzes the relationship between man and mega-cities of the modern world, in which he portrays a vision of urban chaos. Baglione also has a variety of mural designs depicting stretched figures that represent human and alien life forms. Within these wall paintings he plays with the concepts of elongated and oblong shapes accompanied with iconic symbols from familiar urban architecture.

"Sem Título e Sem Rótulo" Exposição Com a Famiglia Baglione na Cidade de Nova Lima < MG > Galeria Murilo Castro

The participating artists of the exhibition "No Title and No Label" belong to a new generation who is able to establish a dialogue with distinct audiences in different parts of the world utilizing mediums such as painting, installation, drawing and video art.
Making use of references ranging from pop culture to both chaos and conspiracy theories, from punk rock to the study of oriental caligraphies and masters of painting.
What connects these four artists, besides their approximate ages, is that they all have consumed practically the same references, belong to a moment which has been potencialized by the information era, as well as the need to express their talents without the assistance of educators from the art academies. However, the impression of unity ends there, once each artist establishes very particular styles and techniques on their artwork.




Os artistas da exposição “Sem Titulo e Sem Rótulo” pertencem a uma nova geração que consegue estabelecer um diálogo com diferentes públicos em diferentes pontos do mundo, utilizando as linguagens da pintura, da instalação, do desenho e da vídeo-arte.
Suas referências vão da cultura pop às teorias do caos e da conspiração, do punk rock ao estudo das caligrafias orientais e grandes mestres da pintura. O que conecta esses quatro artistas, além de terem a mesma faixa etária, é que todos consomem praticamente as mesmas referências, fazem parte de um momento potencializado da era da informação, além de todos terem a necessidade de expressar seu talento sem o auxílio de docentes de academias de arte. Contudo, o sentido de unidade acaba ai, pois, cada um, estabelece estilos e técnicas bastante particulares em seus trabalhos.

Graduado pela ECA-USP (Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo), foi o curador de Obra Menor (Ateliê 397) e Lugar Sim e Não (galeria Eduardo Fernandes), em 2009, de Mediações (galeria Motor), no ateliê de Shirley Paes Leme, em 2010, e fez acompanhamento crítico de Ateliê Fidalga no Paço das Artes, também neste ano. Foi repórter e redator de artes e arquitetura no caderno Ilustrada, no jornal Folha de S.Paulo, de 2005 a 2009, e atualmente colabora para diversos veículos, como as revistas Bravo e Trópico e o portal UOL. É coautor de Roberto Mícoli (Bei Editora).
